Building Committee Tours Mid Coast Senior Health

On December 12, Randee Reynolds, Vice President of Community Health for Mid Coast–Parkview Health, and Kim Watson, Administrator of Mid Coast Senior Health, led members of the Mid Coast–Parkview Health Board's Building Committee on a tour of the facility's new wing.

Construction Update: Concrete Poured and Steel Delivered at Mid Coast Senior Health

Construction continues at Mid Coast Senior Health, where concrete was poured for the new 7,000-square foot floor on July 3. Fabricated steel was delivered and installed starting July 8.

Construction Begins on Mid Coast Senior Health Expansion

Mid Coast–Parkview Health has begun work on an extensive renovation and expansion project at its senior health facility, Mid Coast Senior Health. Mid Coast–Parkview Health leaders, donors, staff, and residents gathered at the construction site, 58 Baribeau Drive, on Tuesday, May 21 to break ground and usher in the new era in local senior healthcare. The project is expected to be complete by early June 2020. Click here to read the full news release.

The 7,000-square foot expansion of Mid Coast Senior Health will be added to the rear of the building. The front entrance will remain as is with no changes to the façade.

Project Update: Mid Coast Senior Health Plans

Mid Coast Senior Health has unveiled its renovation plans. The current plan is to begin with the 9,000-square foot renovation immediately followed by the addition of a new 7,000-square foot wing in the spring.

Project highlights include:

• Renovation of bathing areas
• Renovation of the dining and living area on Mere Point
• Renovation of the nurses station on Bodwell
• Renovation of other common areas that will not affect residents or patients
• Running new electrical lines
• Groundbreaking for the expansion in early April

The Teaching Kitchen at the Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness

The Teaching Kitchen allows the Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness to host a number of providers from across Mid Coast–Parkview Health who lead healthy cooking demonstrations. This includes Kimberly Dovin, MD, who is preparing a healthful salad (above), as well as Timothy Howe, MD, leading a session of Food for Health (below).
