Kristin Sims Named Vice President for Nursing & Patient Care Services

Kristin Sims, RNC, MSN, NEA-BC, has joined the leadership team of Mid Coast Health Services as the Vice President for Nursing and Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. With more than 30 years of healthcare experience, her strategic direction and vision will lead the development and continued excellence of the clinical nursing practice throughout the organization.

As Chief Nursing Officer, Sims oversees all nursing staff, Surgical Services, Behavioral Health, and Quality and Patient Safety teams with an emphasis on compassionate care, patient satisfaction, and the high standards established and recognized by the hospital’s Magnet® designation.

For the past ten years, Sims held the Chief Nursing Officer position at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan, where she successfully led the Magnet designation process for the organization. Her previous experience also includes progressive nursing leadership and clinical roles in Maternal Child Health.

Sims received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She is board certified as a Nurse Executive-Advanced and in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing.

Through her experience and dedication to nursing, Kristin understands and believes in our mission to deliver high quality healthcare and improve the health of the community we serve. She is a tremendous addition to our team.
