It was just over four years ago that Mid Coast Health Services unveiled our 2020 Vision, a commitment to lead our community in the transformation of healthcare over the next decade. With a focus on creating opportunities for prevention and wellness, improving patient experiences, delivering integrated and accountable care, measuring and improving quality, and engaging the community to identify needs, we have already made meaningful progress. Within the past couple of months we have achieved significant advancements toward our goal of better health and healthcare in our region. With the opening of the new patient-centered primary care facility in the heart of downtown Bath, community members have greater access to high-quality preventive care that will help them to stay healthy. The expansion of the Mid Coast Hospital Emergency Department directly supports our community’s need for improved behavioral health care. Above all, creating a shared vision with Parkview Adventist Medical Center to create one local and integrated healthcare system is momentous—a true success for the health and vitality of our community.
Throughout the past few years and recent months, we have started to see a shift. Working together—patients, employees, medical staff, community members, business leaders, and the healthcare community—we will continue to work toward a culture of health in our region.
