Caring for the Body, Mind, and Spirit

Spiritual care can be an important part of the healing process for people experiencing health concerns or crisis in their lives or the lives of loved ones.

Spiritual Care services are fully integrated throughout the Mid Coast–Parkview Health system, offering consistent and professional support in a variety of disciplines to patients and families at all phases of life.

In addition to the chaplains, the Spiritual Care team at Mid Coast–Parkview Health includes 35 specially trained volunteers that provide spiritual support 24-hours per day, seven days per week.

Chaplains have high-level training in areas of psychology, theology, religious studies, and human services, while volunteers have life experience that gives insight into human needs and behaviors.

Spiritual care services are delivered with respect, sensitivity, confidentiality, and in line with the individual’s personal beliefs, offering support for persons in all clinical areas, including maternity, emergency, oncology, rehabilitation, and hospice care and is provided at Mid Coast Hospital, Parkview Medical Center, Mid Coast Senior Health Center, and CHANS Home Health & Hospice.

People of all different faith groups are accommodated, as well as those with no affiliation or religious tradition.
