New Shared Electronic Health Record and Patient Portal Launch in November

Shared Electronic Health Record

As Mid Coast–Parkview Health explored integration with MaineHealth back in 2019, we quickly identified that unification of our electronic health records would provide significant benefit to our patients and clinical teams. After several months of preparation, we are excited to announce that the new MaineHealth shared electronic health record will roll out at Mid Coast–Parkview Health on November 6.

The unified electronic health record will reinforce quality of care and convenience for both patients and care teams. It will also streamline communication and ensure that teams of providers in different locations can quickly share important patient care information. This system reinforces convenience by allowing constant communication between providers and patients regarding the information surrounding their care.

With the launch of the shared electronic health record, we are also introducing MyChart, MaineHealth’s secure patient portal. This free, secure online tool lets you connect with your provider and access your health information online. It is easy to use with 24-hour access from your computer or mobile device. It can be used to view lab results, send a message to your doctor’s office, request an appointment, or renew a prescription.

As part of the launch of MyChart, we will discontinue the use of the existing Mid Coast Medical Group and Mid Coast Hospital Patient Portals. Current users of these portals should visit for information about what to expect and how to sign up for MyChart.
