Mid Coast Hospital Renovates Center for Sleep

The Mid Coast Hospital Center for Sleep Medicine was recently renovated. The center now features upgraded technology and the most advanced diagnostic tools in the region.

The experienced physicians at the Center for Sleep Medicine can provide patients with diagnosis and care for a variety of problems, including difficulty falling or staying asleep, apnea, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome.

Diagnoses are given following in-house sleep studies at the Center for Sleep Medicine. Studies provide a complete evaluation of patients’ sleep by painlessly monitoring their brain activity, heart rate, breathing, muscle activity, snoring and oxygen levels.

During a sleep study in the Sleep Center, patients stay in one of the Center for Sleep Medicine’s three private sleep study rooms, each equipped with a comfortable queen-size bed and a television, much like a hotel. Patients also have control over the room’s thermostat to ensure comfort. Results are available approximately one week after the study is completed.
