COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts Continue

COVID-19

The single most important thing we can do to end the COVID-19 pandemic is to ensure as many people as possible receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccination is the best way to avoid serious illness due to a COVID-19 infection. With the current increase in community transmission, we recognize the urgency to get as many people vaccinated as possible.

Since December 2020, Mid Coast Hospital has risen to this challenge, administering more than 60,000 vaccines to employees, patients, and community members. As vaccination continues to expand and evolve, we will be here to support our community’s needs.

In order to accommodate anticipated demand, the Mid Coast Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic re-opened its doors at 81 Medical Center Drive in late August. Vaccines are available to anyone who meets the eligibility requirements as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Guidelines, eligibility, and availability of COVID-19 vaccine for third doses, booster shots, and the vaccination of children continues to change frequently.

The most recent information about COVID-19 vaccination, including how to sign up for appointments, is posted at www.midcoasthealth.com/vaccine.

Along with steady vaccination efforts, it is recommended to continue to wear a mask in public, stay at least six feet apart from others whenever possible, and clean your hands regularly. Following these simple steps significantly help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses.
