Community Health & Wellness Programs Return

Mid Coast Center for Community Health and Wellness

Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness provides quality, evidence-based prevention and wellness support, information and resources through technical assistance, classes, clinical care, workshops, support groups, literature and online resources for an array of important issues for all ages. During COVID-19, many of the Center’s programs were temporarily paused due to safety and staffing needs. This fall, community members will begin to see some of the typical offerings return.

Food for Health will return in an exciting new virtual format. Hosted by Timothy Howe, MD, the series features topics such as ways food can affect our genetics, connections we can make between our mood and food, the impact certain foods have on circulation, and how food choices can affect skin health. Please follow Mid Coast Hospital on Facebook, or check the Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness Classes page for updates about program availability.

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program will resume virtually this fall, adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols. This educational program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D, features an 8-week curriculum designed to help participants cultivate mindfulness through direct practice in meditation, mindful movement, instruction, and conversation.
