Community Grief Support

Grief is a natural human reaction to death and everyone grieves differently. It is a journey that takes time and is more difficult for some than others. For those experiencing complications, it is important to know signs to look for in order to get needed support.

When experiencing grief, it can be common to question the meaning of life, death or a belief system and to have deep feelings of sadness, loneliness, anxiety, peace, anger, guilt, or emotional numbness. Physical signs of grief may include fatigue, sleeping and eating concerns, headaches, nausea, tightness in chest, shortness of breath, and difficulty focusing on tasks. It is important for people experiencing symptoms of grief that interfere with normal daily activities to talk with a professional who can help.

CHANS Home Health & Hospice grief support groups provide a confidential and comfortable environment to journey through the grieving process with other people who have experienced the death of a loved one. They offer groups on adult grief, suicide loss, substance abuse loss, grieving parents, grieving children, and pet loss, as well as a structured 8-week grief program.

Groups are free, open to the public, and are co-facilitated by trained volunteers. For more information, visit www.chanshomehealth.com.
