Mid Coast Senior Health Named Best Nursing Home

Mid Coast Senior Health has been recognized as "Best Nursing Home" by U.S. News & World Report for 2018-19. The annual designation is awarded to facilities that have achieved a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which is based on performance, quality, and patient satisfaction. U.S. News & World Report gave Mid Coast Senior Health a high performing rating for both overall quality of care and for short-stay rehabilitation care.

"This is well-deserved recognition for Mid Coast Senior Health," said Kim Watson, Mid Coast Senior Health Administrator. "Our team of caregivers goes above and beyond every single day to ensure that we are providing the best possible care for our patients. We are committed to caring for the elder care needs of our community and are proud to be recognized for these efforts."

For the 2018-19 ratings, more than 35 Maine facilities earned the Best Nursing Homes recognition by being rated High Performing in either the Short-Stay Rehabilitation or Overall ratings and at least Average in the other. Only 2,975 of more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide achieved the Best Nursing Home designation. Maine is among the top five states in the country with the highest proportion of Best Nursing Homes.

Mid Coast Senior Health has maintained the 5-star CMS rating since 2016. "It is a testament to the dedication that the Mid Coast Senior Health team has toward delivering the highest quality care to patients, residents, and families," said Watson.
