Mid Coast Cycling Team Rides to Support Healthy Lungs

Ten Mid Coast Hospital employees, providers, friends, and family took part in the 33rd Annual Trek Across Maine June 16-18. The 2017 cycling team raised more than $11,300 in support of the American Lung Association (ALA) and healthy lungs in Maine.

"The Trek is such a wonderful event with more than 700 volunteers helping to support the 1,500 riders each day at busy intersections, cheering, setting up food tents, and marking the roads. Local police ride among the groups on bikes and some patrol the roads to slow traffic,” said team captain Janet Moore.

"The Mid Coast Hospital cycling team is so grateful for support from our community, leadership and our hospital family,” said Moore. "We are honored to be a part of this event each year to help raise money to increase awareness of lung disease and improve air quality in Maine. It is great to see the back roads of our beautiful state from Bethel to Belfast - all 180 miles!”
