COVID-19 Update, June 16: Visitation Safety Measures at Mid Coast Hospital
Recognizing the importance of visitors to the wellbeing of patients, Mid Coast Hospital has updated its policy on visiting and escorting patients. This policy is an update to the Visitation Safety Measures imposed on Friday, March 20, 2020 and were most recently updated on March 8, 2022. This latest update will take effect on June 16, 2022, and shall remain in effect until further notice.

Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary Announces Return of Grand & Glorious Yard Sale
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary’s Grand and Glorious Yard Sale plans to return May 20, 21, and 22 at Merrymeeting Plaza in Brunswick. From April 9 through May 14, donations of gently used goods will be accepted Saturdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Mid Coast–Parkview Health Announces Retirement of President Lois Skillings
Mid Coast–Parkview Health announced that President Lois Skillings, RN, MS, FACHE, will retire in early 2023. The announcement was made in a joint statement written by Lennie Burke, Chair of the Mid Coast–Parkview Health Board of Directors, and Kelly Elkins, Chief Operating Officer of MaineHealth. Skillings has worked for Mid Coast–Parkview Health in numerous nursing and leadership capacities since 1979, serving as president for the past 11 years.

2021 Achievements Highlighted at Mid Coast–Parkview Health Annual Meeting
On January 13, 2022, more than 250 Corporators, board members, medical staff members, auxilians, donors, and community leaders attended the Mid Coast–Parkview Health annual meeting, which was held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Mid Coast Senior Health Named Best Nursing Home
Mid Coast Senior Health has been recognized as a Best Nursing Home for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report. Mid Coast Senior Health earned Best Nursing Homes status by achieving a rating of “High Performing,” the highest possible rating, for its Long-Term Care at Mere Point and Rehabilitation at Bodwell communities.

Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccinations at Mid Coast Hospital
As of November 2, COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has expanded. The CDC recommends that children age 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. Currently, Mid Coast Hospital is providing COVID-19 vaccination for children 5-11 years old only.

Booster Doses Available at Mid Coast Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Beginning September 29
In accordance with the latest US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, Mid Coast Hospital will begin offering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to those who are eligible beginning Wednesday, September 29. Booster doses at the Mid Coast Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will be available by appointment only.

Mid Coast–Parkview Health Announces 2021 Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinics
During the month of October, Mid Coast–Parkview Health will host a series of drive-thru flu shot clinics at Mid Coast Hospital’s Parkview Campus, 329 Maine Street in Brunswick. Clinics will be offered the first four weekends in October from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Masking Reminder: Masking Precautions Remain in Healthcare Settings
Even as state and federal public health agencies ease masking requirements and social distancing recommendations for those who are fully vaccinated, Mid Coast Hospital will continue to require these precautions. The Maine CDC announced that it was lifting a statewide mask mandate in many public settings as of May 24. There are, however, exceptions, including schools, day care facilities, public transportation, and in all healthcare facilities.
